Website Tips

The new website looks great, I believe.  There have been a few phone calls of customers longing for the old blue back, but the response has been overwhelmingly positive on the whole (Literally as I'm writing this, a local customer stops by and tells me how much she loves it.)

Now that you’ve had a few weeks to become familiar with it, here are a couple of tips for ‘power users’ or for finding information quickly.

  • Bookmark (or Favorite) your favorites.  I have bookmarks set up for Lab Link, Final Prints Online Ordering, Proofs Online Ordering, and Press Quick Order, because that’s where I need to go most frequently on our site.  I click whichever of those, it makes me login (my browser settings allow it to remember my Account Number and Password, then takes me immediately to what I’m trying to do.  It’s the quickest way for me to work, and wasn’t available with the old web site.
  • Site Map.  At the bottom of every page on the web site, way down there in tiny text, is “Site Map”.  When I can’t find what I’m looking for within a click or two, I simply go to the “Site Map” which serves as the Table of Contents.  Find what I’m looking for (using the browser’s Edit-Find feature most commonly), then click it and I’m good.
  • Tabs.  Hold down “Ctrl” or “Command” and click on any link (any where on the web) and that link opens in a new tab within the same browser.  So, while my proof order is uploading, I can open “Online Ordering” in a new tab, then start working on the next order while the first continues to upload and without having to login again anywhere.

pricing continues to be difficult to navigate and  I guess as the woman/shopper in me  - I long to have something in my hands to browse through.  I looked F O R E V E R  the other day to find the price on the companion BOOK vs. the companion ALBUM.  I'm not telling anyone the difference - since I really just discovered them both recently and love these options - I'd like other people to try to find them too.  Did you KNOW there 2 different new flat/companion options? Love the new site - hate not having the price book in my hands.

I agree on the printed price book.  even if we could purchase one it would be helpful!

A printed (or downloadable, print if you like) version is in the works.  I've personally seen Julie poring over it in a fit of accuracy checking earlier today.
