I have to admit I’m becoming somewhat addicted to Twitter. When I first started tweeting, I couldn’t figure out what was so appealing about it. Yet, I was hearing about it everywhere – in politics, in sports, in celebrity news even. To help spur my interest, I started doing some research on Twitter.
One piece of Twitter trivia I found interesting was that it became an overnight obsession during the terrorist attack in Mumbai last fall. During the attack, witnesses were posting up-to-the-minute tweets on what was happening. Rather than turning to CNN to get the latest news, the public was turning to Twitter, where they could view instantaneous accounts from a number of different sources.
The instantaneous Twitter talk made us wonder how we're doing – are we providing helpful information to you as quickly as we can? This all led to a couple of key decisions at Miller’s, namely, revamping our newsletter and creating a couple of new social networking accounts. You guessed it…on Twitter…and Facebook.
With our previous newsletter being both hard copy and bimonthly, we knew we could design something better that would deliver news to you in a much timelier fashion. We’re now happy to announce that starting today, you’ll receive the Miller’s newsletter in your inbox every month with all the latest and greatest that’s happening at the lab. We’re hoping to save a few trees along the way too.
As mentioned above, my infatuation with Twitter means I couldn’t possibly end this column without also shamelessly plugging our new Twitter and Facebook accounts. It’s quickly becoming one of our favorite ways to communicate and interact with you. Join our networks to ask questions, read our hopefully useful tidbits, or to just say hello. We look forward to chatting with you there!
